How To Manifest Your Ideal Partner for a Long-term Loving Relationship Full of Infatuation Like a Never-ending Honeymoon This technique can be used to find your ideal partner and it can also be used to develop your relationship with your partner. The good news about this technique is that it works whether you have a partner or are seeking a partner. Recently, a relationship counselor asked me for advice for one of her clients. The client’s wife used their relationship counseling appointment as a safe place to announce their marriage was over. The guy never saw it coming and now is in counseling for loss and grief. What did I think she should do? I felt honored that she asked my opinion on this subject, after all, she is a mainstream counselor with a degree, and I'm much more interested in alternative techniques, but my new age approach is rooted in ancient wisdom. I suggested this technique: Have the guy imagine a more ideal partner. This will help heal the grief and loss and will lead to other essential things, too. He will, no doubt, discover he has to make some changes in his own life in order to be attractive to this more ideal partner he is imagining.  That could lead to a love affair with himself, in a sense. Having a love affair with yourself is a very good thing, of course. When it is apparent you love yourself, you are automatically more loveable than someone who seems to hate himself. As you imagine the partner who is more ideal for you, make your vision of this person more and more vivid. Use the basic advice of writing practice: Be specific. Writing down your dream about your ideal partner will help. Make notes on your vivid vision. You can begin simply, with physical descriptions, and then go deeper; describing the qualities you would like this person to have. Go over your list every day, reading it out loud, and direct your dreams, as you fall asleep and wake up again, as in a movie starring you and this new lover of yours. If you do this exercise at a time when you don't have a partner, you will meet someone like your more ideal dream mate. It has the added advantage of allowing you to recognize this new partner when you see them. If you do this exercise at a time when you have a partner, you will see your love evolve to become more and more like this vivid vision. It's amazing, I can assure you. There are a couple of concepts that work well with this exercise. One idea is that all relationships are about healing.  That is why people are brought together. It's all about healing.  We attract the people we need for healing purposes. Another idea is that we are all evolving all the time. That's good news, not bad. Don't be afraid of this sort of change. Keep in mind this great saying: "The better it gets, the better it gets." Affirmations work wonders. They are like luck. As Stephen Leacock said, "The harder I work, the more I have of it." This exercise comes with this old warning: Be careful what you ask for because you'll get it. The first time I tried manifesting a more ideal partner for a long term loving relationship, I didn't believe in the process, much, and I was pretty vague when it came to the vivid vision.  I guess I felt bad about making a list as I was trying to get rid of that shopping mall mentality. I met someone, alright, and she had some of the qualities I thought I wanted. She was, in fact, a much more ideal partner, for me, than anyone else I had ever met. On the other hand, it turned out badly because my vision wasn't vivid enough and she had some characteristics I never dreamed of. Also, I did not dream up the type of relationship I wanted to have with this person. I just dreamed about the person. Later I learned you have to dream about the two of you together and what it will be like. Why not manifest a long term loving relationship like a never-ending honeymoon, full of infatuation. Both Deepak Chopra and Margot Anand say such a relationship is possible. On the other hand, if what you want is a calm, quiet, companionable relationship, then that’s what you should dream about and manifest. I recommend dreaming about your ideal partner, making a mental list and putting it in writing, and directing your dreams like movies, if you want to meet that certain someone or if you want your current relationship to evolve in a certain direction. We are all co-evolving, my new age friends say. Some of them even say we are co-evolving with our higher powers. For "higher powers", substitute whatever word or term you use when you talk about spirit or spirituality. Don't worry; I'm not going to go crazy with spirituality, or anything. I do think spirituality is important, of course. I'm attached to the belief that you should check in on the level of spirit as well as on the physical, intellectual, and emotional levels.
