Yes, $29.95 (Canadian funds, excluding tax). This fee covers your event ticket, next-day matching, and food at the event and maybe the door prize!
What are the advantages of Speed Dating?- you get to meet people face to face Can I attend more than once?Yes. Sometimes finding that special someone can be a numbers game and we would love to have you back for a second time around if you wish to attend again. Will I meet the same people if I attend another event?You may meet one or two people that you have seen before, but the majority will be new faces. If you want to know who will be at an event that you have previously met, just email us and ask. We have a number of events in the Vancouver area, so you can also try attending an event in another location near you. What if I don't make any matches?If you attend a Speed Dating event and do not make any matches, you are invited to come back for half price!
What if I'm not quite the age of the "age range" listed?We encourage you to come to the group that is closest to your own age, as you will get the most matches that way. If you are more than 1 or 2 years outside the "range", try and consider another group. Is anything provided at the event?At the end of the event there will be complementary appetizers. (Everyone is invited to order drinks and to stay for dinner and/or desert as well, if they like) We also give away door prizes at the event. Check with your event host as there may be other 'extras' at your event! Can I pay at the door? When should I sign up?You must sign up in advance, and you need to pre-pay. This is because we have to confirm who is coming in order to organize the event with an equal number of men and women. Sign up us soon as you know you can attend because events fill up quickly!
What if the event I want to attend is full?If the event is full, we can put you on a waiting list. People do change their minds about which event they want to attend and some people do not pay in advance. We can often offer these spots to the people on the waiting list. What should I wear?Dress like you are going out on a date. The main thing is to be confident and be yourself and the easiest way to do this is to dress in something that makes you feel comfortable. After all, you want someone to be attracted to you for who you really are. Are there any rules at Speed Dating Events?To keep the event low pressure, un-awkward and comfortable for everyone, there are three rules you need to know. 1. You may not ask anyone for their contact information (phone number, e-mail, last name, etc.) or ask anyone out on a second date. 2. You may not ask sexually explicit questions or say anything that may be interpreted as threatening or as sexual harassment. 3. You must represent yourself in an honest manner. What kind of contact information gets exchanged?You decide what contact information you want us to give your matches. Usually it is a e-mail address or cell phone number. Remember, we only give out your contact information to your matches - people who you wish to see again and who wish to see you again, no-one else. How do I pay?You may pay by Visa, MasterCard or American Express via our secure online system. To make your payment, click on pay now and you will be taken to a secure server and returned after you complete the payment process.
When do I pay?After you register you will receive a confirmation email (to make sure that event still has space) at which point you can make your payment. Is 8 minutes really enough to know if you want to see someone again?Eight minutes allows you to get a feeling for the person and you can tell what sort of character they have. You get a feeling from their body language and eye contact and this gives you the opportunity to see if there is any chemistry between you. It is obviously not enough time to know the person at any great depth, but it's a lot more worthwhile than meeting someone over the internet and trying to decide whether to meet them in person or not. What if I have to cancel?If you have to cancel, please give us 2 days notice, and we will gladly give you a refund. However, since speed dating events are dependant on participant attendance we cannot give any refunds if we have less than 2 days notice or if you do not attend.
