Type A - 'Harmonizer'
These types are
people-lovers and place high importance on their relationships with other
people. They are naturally concerned about others and take a warm hearted
approach to life. They feel connected to people and live by their values.
They are loyal to the people and causes they respect. These people are
generally enthusiastic and energetic and at the same time conscientious
and responsible. They do have a tendency to be self-critical, but are
seldom critical in public because they feel responsible for the feelings
of others.
The 'Harmonizer' is
personable, socially adept, charming and gracious. They are even tempered,
tolerant and diplomatic and excellent at promoting harmony around them.
They make natural leaders and are popular, charismatic and good at
communicating. They decide things based on feelings as opposed to facts
and generally like to keep things orderly. They prefer to have matters
settled. They look for the good in others and want to help others be the
best they can be.
These people are
sympathetic, understanding, nurturing and supportive. They read people
well and naturally care how others feel.
Possible downside:
'Harmonizers' are so caring and concerned about others' well being that
they may become overly involved in the feelings of others to the point
where they compromise their own needs. Sometimes they spend too much
effort on unworthy causes. If things don't work out, they can become
disillusioned, overwhelmed, and disappointed, which may cause them to
withdraw, feeling unappreciated. Type A's would do well to learn to accept
the limitations of themselves and others and keep realistic expectations.
Their desire for harmony
is so strong that they may ignore the 'real problem' in order to keep
everyone happy. They may also hold on to relationships that are not honest
and equal because of their desire to avoid conflict.
Sometimes Harmonizers
make incorrect assumptions or make decisions too quickly because of their
enthusiasm and desire to move on to their next challenge. They can avoid
mistakes by waiting until enough information is known before making
decisions.
Focusing on emotions
gives them the ability to see the affect of their actions on other people,
but causes them to loose sight of the logical consequences. They are so
idealistic that they see things as they wish they were and may idealize
relationships. In general, Harmonizers would do well to try and keep their
eyes open as well as their hearts.
